Welcome to the Parson's Patter!
I invite you to journey with me as I ponder the happenings of this wonderful world through the filters of my life. These 'filters' have been formed by my life experiences, wisdom I have gained from others, those few facts that I am sure of, and what I can imagine or hope for.
On this blog you will find jokes, quotes, cartoons, stories, opinions, some random thoughts, and possibly a bit of wisdom. If you happen to read something here that offers you a 'holy interruption', stirs your thinking, or brings a smile to your face; then our time has been well spent.
Just a bit about the title, 'The Parson's Patter.' 'Parson' is the age-old moniker for an individual whose vocation is that of leading a church. Other familiar designations include: preacher, minister, pastor, knucklehead, *&#@%, and reverend. 'Parson' seems to offer a sense of familiarity and down-homeness. It also has a cool ring to it. And as for the 'patter' portion, see the definition at the top of this post.
Well, the first step has been made. Let's see what happens.
